Description Summary
The management of the risks associated with RDC have been cited as the #1 reason why financial institutions have not been more aggressive with their RDC initiatives. However, the most successful organizations have truly been trailblazers, masterfully balancing aggressive growth with the effective management of risk while also delivering deposit and profit growth.
This session will focus upon RDC Risk Management best practices, system capabilities, and address issues surrounding hot topics including Mobile and Consumer Capture. Current fraud trends will be discussed, including ways to thwart the fraudsters.
In addition, John Leekley will present findings and issues straight from the FFIEC and Federal Reserve. John Leekley and Ed McLaughlin were the only external experts hired by the FFIEC as it developed its initial RDC Guidance (released in 2009). John has again been hired to consult for the FFIEC given the dramatic interest in, and deployment of Mobile and Consumer Capture.

Description Summary
RDC 101: How it Works
We throw around terms like RDC and merchant capture and just assume that everyone knows what that means. You just need a scanner and some checks, right? The truth is that there are numerous components to making RDC work and once you know how each of these parts functions and relates to the whole service, you will be ready to make better technology choices, improve operational efficiencies and be prepared to deal effectively with any system breakdowns. This session will breakdown RDC into hardware, software, files, clearing, and process and present a clear, understandable, dissection of the primary elements of this strategic service.
RDC 201: Making it Work For You
With a firm grasp of RDC fundamentals in hand, we now move into areas of differentiation amongst various deployment methodologies. This session will examine the details of RDC deployment modes, an overview of the rules and regulations governing RDC, RDC pricing, and a basic overview of RDC risk management. Further, this session will outline a methodology for understanding the types of RDC systems that might appeal to different customer segments and lay out a framework for making RDC solution decisions.
